Training and qualifications
Ms Di Bella completed her orthopaedic training in Italy in 2007 and obtained a PhD in oncology in 2012 and became full member of Royal Australian College of Surgeons and Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2014.
Having moved to Australia in 2009, she completed her fellowship in musculoskeletal tumours at St Vincent’s Hospital here in Melbourne where she joined as a consultant in 2014.
Ms Di Bella is heavily involved in the training of junior doctors, being appointed as Senior Lecturer in surgery at University of Melbourne.
Ms Di Bella research focuses on the use of stem cells for the treatment of joint injuries and diseases for which she has obtained numerous national research grants. She is currently appointed as research fellow at Melbourne University and she has a very active role in the Advanced Limb Reconstruction program.
Ms Di Bella is a published author of numerous research papers in the field of clinical and tissue engineering research which is highlighted by the impressive number of publications in peer reviewed journals and oral presentations at national and international conferences.
